Biography

My name is Jina Kim and I am a Ph.D student in the Communication Sciences and Disorders program. I am from South Korea and graduated from Korea University with a master’s degree in psychology. I moved to Iowa in pursuit of research in psycholinguistics and am now working with Dr. Kristi Hendrickson on conducting research with a focus on EEG(N400) and eye-tracking. My research interests are to evaluate the differences between visual and auditory word recognition processing, to investigate how general inhibitory mechanisms are related to language processing, and to understand language development of children. My long-term goal working in this field is to understand language recognition processing and to provide an effective intervention methodology to the developmental language disorder population.
