Hi! My name is Emily. I am a first year PhD student in speech and hearing science and a certified speech-language pathologist. I received my MA in speech-language pathology here at the U of I and loved it so much that I decided to stick around! I am primarily interested in understanding the mechanisms underlying Developmental Language Disorder (DLD) and how DLD impacts the process of learning to read. In my free time, I love to spend time with my husband and our pets, talk for hours with my friends, and play outside with my nieces.
